The Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1 1/12 Scale Motorcycle Model Kit faithfully portrays the Yamaha YZF-R1, a supersport motorcycle introduced at the 1997 Milan Show. Its sharply defined cowl and fuel tank draw inspiration from the full-size machine, while the compact bodywork conveys the character of a liter-class motorcycle. This unpainted plastic assembly kit offers an engaging hands-on building and finishing experience.
The water-cooled four-cylinder engine is recreated with finely detailed parts, including vinyl pipes that represent the wiring and plumbing. The frame and swingarm have a plated finish, and metal screws help fasten components to the frame. A replacement single-seat cowl and racing stand are also supplied for additional display options among your Tamiya products.

Care instructions
Build and paint the kit as directed, using appropriate plastic-model adhesive, tools, and paints, sold separately. Take care when handling small or completed parts, particularly the wiring, plumbing, and plated pieces. Store the finished model in a clean, dry, dust-free area away from direct sunlight, and gently remove dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Do not use water or strong cleaning agents.
